Crashy88 Pere Ubu changed my life, and this box contains the incredibly amazing remaster of my favorite Pere Ubu album, their dark work of genius, "New Picnic Time". Their earlier set, "Elitism for the People", contains their masterpiece from this period, "Dub Housing". The most ultimate rock and roll!

Dan Otto / Don Henson Pere Ubu are one of the great 70's bands! Always speaking their own musical language. If all the titles were available to choose, I'd choose "All The Dogs Are Barking" such a soft lull, and that EMS spurting made me think I had speaker damage, when I first heard it in 1980. Truly remarkable. These downloads are also 24bit. Bless you David Thomas for that. Essential!! Favorite track: Rounder.

The Pere Ubu project was supposed to be an end, not a beginning. Assembled in August 1975 to be the Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young of the Cleveland music underground, the plan was to record one, maybe two singles and exist no more. Within months, however, those first self-produced records were being snapped up in worldwide. ... more
